This Privacy Policy explains how Meraki Leather Crafts, trading as Meraki® Leather Crafts, based in Hîrjauca, Moldova ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit merakileather.com or place an order with us. Article 2 - What personal data we collect
Depending on how you use our website, we may collect: identity and contact data (name, email, phone, delivery and billing address); account data, if you create one (login email, password — stored encrypted by our website platform, Odoo — saved addresses, order history); order data (items purchased, order value, personalization details); payment data (for domestic cash-on-delivery orders we never see or store card details; for international orders, payment is processed directly by PayPal, and we don't see or store your PayPal login); messages you send us; and technical/usage data collected via cookies, detailed in our separate Cookie Policy.
Article 3 - How we collect your data
Directly from you — placing an order, creating an account, subscribing to our newsletter, or contacting us — and automatically through cookies as you browse.
Article 4 - Why we use your data
To process and deliver your order, including sharing necessary details with couriers and payment providers (needed to fulfill our contract with you); to maintain your account, if you have one (contract); to keep accounting and tax records as Moldovan law requires, currently 6 years (legal obligation); to send marketing emails, if you've opted in (your consent, withdrawable anytime); to improve our website through analytics, if you've accepted those cookies (consent); and to prevent fraud and keep the site secure (our legitimate interest).
Article 5 - Who we share your data with
Only where necessary: Odoo (our website and order management platform), private couriers such as Nova Poshta or Glovo (to deliver domestic orders), PayPal (to process international payments), Google Analytics and Google Ads (only if you've consented to those cookies), and Odoo (to send newsletters, if you've subscribed). We never sell your personal data.
Article 6 - International data transfers
Some providers we use, including Google and PayPal, are based outside Moldova and may process data in other countries, including the United States. These providers maintain their own data protection safeguards; we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Article 7 - How long we keep your data
Order and invoice records: 6 years, as Moldovan accounting and tax law requires. Account data: kept until you ask us to delete it. Marketing data: we stop using it immediately if you unsubscribe.

Article 9 - Marketing communications

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion (except where we're legally required to keep it, like 6-year invoice records), restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent at any time, request a portable copy of your data, and lodge a complaint with the National Center for Personal Data Protection. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
